The challenge
From choosing the Pimcore Enterprise Edition to integrating PIM, DAM and DXP, BORA had a clear mission: break down fragmented structures, eliminate redundant data and automate manual processes. One central idea was always at the forefront: PIM is technology. PXM means emotion.
So how not to manage only data, but to turn bora.com into an innovative and exciting new platform? The idea of the BORA Experience Plattform was born.

The vision
Data excellence and cross-channel experiences
BORA pursued an ambitious vision:
Excellent data quality as a foundation
Right from the start, the focus was on optimising and ensuring the quality of product data.
A cross-channel output approach
The seamless delivery of content and products across different channels ensures a consistent brand experience.
Clean product data in the PIM
The integration of linked documents adds a new dimension to personalised storytelling (such as scrollytelling) to present products in an emotional way.
The implementation
An integrated concept for data and experiences

As part of the website relaunch, a new digital presence was designed in close collaboration between BORA and valantic. The focus was not only on a modern design, but also on integrating all individual systems into a central product experience platform. This system combines product information management (PIM), digital asset management (DAM) and content management (CMS) – supplemented by interfaces to other internal systems such as event management and ERP.
In an initial review of the existing external systems, individual strategies were developed to either optimise them or connect them to Pimcore without errors. A joint roadmap, which was developed in an interdisciplinary workshop, formed the guideline for the initial go-live and for continuous optimisations. Two project timelines were pursued in parallel: in addition to supporting the current processes, strategic topics for the future were discussed, defined and prepared.

The agile approach made it possible to regularly define new focal points and flexibly adjust priorities. While valantic, as the responsible partner, took over the design of the new website in close coordination with BORA’s specialist departments, the creative and marketing teams provided active support in the areas of corporate design, individual design element adaptation, UX, and technical SEO.
At the heart of the project is the decision to set up the project as a PXM project in Pimcore – driven by the desire not only to manage data, but to shape it into an inspiring experience. The central system for PIM, DAM and CMS was expanded to include important interfaces to other internal systems. The front end was implemented entirely with Storybook, while BORA’s internal developers received intensive training in Pimcore and Storybook technologies so that they can drive further development independently in the future.

A particular highlight of the new version is the revised scrollytelling concept. Close collaboration between the creative and development teams enabled fast and clean implementation, giving the website a more modern look and feel and showcasing the individual products to their best advantage. In addition, the use of storytelling elements has improved usability, allowing visitors to navigate quickly and intuitively to the information they need.
While the first phase was successfully implemented and the launch was completed on schedule, the system was updated from Pimcore 10 to Pimcore 11 in the post-go-live phase. Future updates, enhancements – such as additional language versions – and minor adjustments will be carried out in a regular biweekly release cycle in close consultation with the customer.
The successes at a glance
BORA has achieved some impressive results with the new system and optimised website:
A central, flexible system for product and content data enables efficient management.
A uniform and consistent customer experience is guaranteed across all channels.
Manual maintenance and synchronisation efforts have been significantly reduced.
And what comes next?
BORA and valantic are optimistic about the future and already have exciting enhancements planned:
- Expansion towards Master Data Management 2.0 and Customer Data Platforms to tap further potential.
- Use of AI-supported content optimisation via Pimcore Co-Pilot to personalise content even more precisely.
- Real Product Experience – a scalable architecture ensures that a genuine product experience can be enjoyed at every touchpoint.
